Purukpeh Agriculture Farm Establishes Business Footprint in the United States

Purukpeh Agriculture Farm, an emerging   Liberian agricultural enterprise, has made a significant stride by establishing a business footprint in the United States.  This milestone marks a significant achievement for the farm as a new player in Liberia’s agricultural value chain sector and promoter of sustainable farming practices to empower smallholder farmers.

Founded by visionary entrepreneur Estelle Liberty-Kemoh, the farm has grown from humble beginnings into a thriving enterprise known for its high-quality products and commitment to community development. The expansion into the U.S. market is set to enhance the agribusiness reach, providing access to a broader customer base and new business opportunities.

Speaking to Liberia Agricultural Journalist Network, Purukpeh Agriculture Farm CEO expressed her excitement about the expansion, stating, “This is a dream come true not just for me, but for every agriculture entrepreneur in Liberia. We have shown that with determination and the right support, it is possible to take our products to the global market.”

Estelle Liberty-Kemoh further underscored that entry into the U.S. market is expected to enhance the farm’s ability to generate income and increase its influence in the agricultural arena.  The Cassava and Plantain Fufu, a staple in many Liberian households, is now available for purchase by consumers in the State of Maryland and other states not in the distant future.  Known for its authentic taste and high nutritional value, the fufu has been a favorite food in Liberia for years.

Madam Estelle Liberty-Kemoh emphasized   the entry of this organically produced Cassava and Plantain Fufu into the U.S. market is more than just a business expansion; it represents a cultural exchange and an opportunity to showcase the richness of Liberian cuisine.“Our Cassava and Plantain Fufu is made from the finest ingredients, cultivated sustainably by local farmers. This product not only provides a delicious and nutritious meal but also supports our mission to empower smallholder farmers in Liberia.”

As Purukpeh Agriculture Farm continues to expand its reach, there is a call for government support to smallholder farmers achieve success. With the right policies and infrastructure, Liberia’s agricultural sector has the potential to become a key driver of economic growth and job creation.

In June this year, Madam Estelle Liberty-Kemoh was a participant in a training program sponsored by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) held under the Ghana International Cluster Conference III study tour of Ghana, with a focus on promoting MSME development and employment opportunities in Liberia through a market system and cluster development approach in Agro-industry value chains- Grow 2 initiative.  The program focuses on three value chains, support to enhancing the cassava and horticulture value chains to enhance food security and increase income of, in particular, rural farmers (men, women, and youth).
