Bishop Bimba Ranked 25th Among Global Christian Allies

By Staff Writer

MONROVIA — Liberian Bishop Robert S. M. Bimba, a church leader whose work extends from Christian ministry into agricultural and community development, has been ranked 25th on the Israel Allies Foundation’s 2026 list of the world’s Top 50 Christian Allies.

Bimba’s recognition places a Liberian religious and development leader among Christian pastors, advocates, ministry leaders and other influential figures recognized internationally for their engagement with Israel.

The Israel Allies Foundation describes Bimba as a Liberian church leader and development advocate who combines biblical discipleship with agricultural and community transformation.

Bimba is President of the Association of Evangelicals of Liberia, Overseer of Abide in the Vine Fellowship Liberia and Chief Executive Officer of the Community of Hope Agriculture Project (CHAP). He also serves as External Director of the Israel Allies Foundation in Liberia.

His No. 25 ranking places him among 50 Christian leaders and advocates featured on the foundation’s 2026 list from different parts of the world.

While Bimba is widely known for his Christian leadership, agriculture has become a significant part of his development work.

Through CHAP, he has been involved in initiatives aimed at improving agricultural production and strengthening the capacity of smallholder farmers.

His work has included promotion of the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) and System of Crop Intensification (SCI), approaches designed to improve farming practices and productivity. He has also been involved in Farmers Advisory Services and the “I Love Liberian Rice” initiative.

The initiatives reflect Bimba’s focus on agriculture as both a livelihood and a development tool, particularly for rural communities.

His agricultural work has also provided a practical dimension to his faith-based leadership, linking Christian community engagement with efforts to improve food production, farming practices and rural livelihoods.

The Israel Allies Foundation’s recognition places Bimba within an international network of Christian leaders engaged in relations with Israel.

According to the foundation, Bimba has worked to promote stronger partnerships between Africa and Israel, including cooperation in agriculture, technology and development.

His ranking therefore brings together two major areas of his public work — Christian leadership and agricultural development — while highlighting his engagement in Africa-Israel relations.

For Liberia, the recognition gives international visibility to a national leader whose work extends from the church into agriculture and community development.

Following his recognition, Bimba is calling on President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and the Government of Liberia to strengthen Liberia’s ties with Israel.

He is also advocating for Liberian Christians to be supported to travel to Israel annually beginning in 2027, saying such visits could deepen religious and people-to-people connections.

Bimba is further calling for President Boakai to travel with a Liberian delegation to Jerusalem in 2027.

He has pointed to agriculture, technology, innovation and development as potential areas for stronger Liberia-Israel cooperation.

Bimba’s ranking comes at a point when his public work increasingly intersects faith, agriculture and community development.

Through CHAP and other initiatives, he has promoted agriculture as an avenue for improving livelihoods and strengthening rural communities, while continuing his leadership within Liberia’s evangelical community.

His placement at No. 25 on the Israel Allies Foundation’s 2026 Top 50 Christian Allies list consequently provides international recognition for a Liberian church leader whose work extends beyond religious ministry into agricultural development and international engagement.

For Liberia, the recognition places a spotlight on the potential role of faith-based leadership in advancing agriculture, rural development and international partnerships.
