Shaktiman Launches Women Empowerment Program to Advance Inclusive Mechanization in Africa

Rajkot (India), 30 March 2026 – SHAKTIMAN (Tirth Agro Technology Pvt. ltd.), one of India’s leading agricultural machinery manufacturers, in collaboration with Hello Tractor, has launched a dedicated Women Empowerment Program to support inclusive agricultural development across Africa. The initiative aims to increase women’s participation in mechanization by providing technical training in machine operation, maintenance, and repair—ensuring they are equipped to lead and contribute meaningfully to the continent’s agricultural transformation.

In many African countries, mechanization services have historically excluded women, leaving a significant gender gap in access to technology and technical knowledge. This program is designed to close that gap by empowering women with hands-on skills and encouraging them to become machine operators, service providers, and even future implement owners.

Delivered in partnership with Hello Tractor, the program focuses on practical training with key equipment including rotary tillers, subsoilers, vacuum precision planters, and static shredders. The sessions are tailored to local farming conditions and aim to prepare participants for active roles in their communities’ mechanization ecosystems.

“Mechanization must be inclusive to be truly transformative. By empowering women with the right tools and training, we are not only creating opportunity—we are building the future of agriculture in Africa,” said Mr. Ashwin Gohil, Chairman of Shaktiman.

Through this partnership, women participating in the program are encouraged to become sub-dealers, local service providers, or influencers within their communities— expanding awareness of mechanization as a driver of growth.

This initiative is part of Shaktiman’s broader commitment to the continent: supporting Africa’s agricultural transformation through accessible, sustainable, and inclusive technology. By putting knowledge and opportunity into the hands of women, the company aims to create lasting impact from the ground up.

Founded in 1997 by the late Shri Ladhubhai S.Gohil, Shaktiman (Tirth Agro Technology Private Limited) started out with a core vision: to mechanize Indian agriculture entirely. Today, its success in its home market has prompted a shift in that vision: to be recognized as a global, leading farm mechanization solution provider to create sustainable value for all its stakeholders in a responsible manner.

Shaktiman prides itself on using high-quality raw materials and sustainable engineering designs to produce innovative agricultural machinery and equipment that meet international standards. The company has a diverse product portfolio, continuously expanding to cover all aspects of the crop cycle. This includes the introduction of advanced products like the Big Sugarcane Harvester, Pneumatic Planters, Subsoilers, Mini and Big Round Balers, Banana Mulchers, Armed Flail Mowers, and joint venture products focused on Root Crop Solutions, such as Rotary Tillers, Potato Planters, and Potato Harvesters.

Shaktiman emphasizes sustainable growth and aims to be a driving force behind farm mechanization while ensuring environmental and economic sustainability. To achieve this, it is committed to enabling farmers to access top-quality products, bringing prosperity through technologically superior solutions.
